Well, I brought in the Impala from Ohio, USA to my country Malaysia in the year 2010. Upon inspection and registration, I drove it for 3 months to get accustomed to the LHD in a RHD country. It has a SBC 350ci TH350 and ran pretty well.
As I run a restoration shop, I then decided to rebuild the Impala ground up. It took 2 years for the custom rebuild to a full 1:1 scale Hotwheels Edition , entered many shows and won many awards. All parts were ordered from USA and that took a while to arrive in batches. After the rebuild, I drove it for 2 years as a daily driver in the horrendous traffic conditions here but it roared like a lion every time you put pedal to the metal. No issues, no overheating, no dramas … one of the best cars on the Malaysian roads.
A local rich man approached me and offered a price I couldn’t resist and decided to let it go and move on.
